Hi, I’m Jonathan. I’m learning how language models work by teaching one to translate Manadonese.
I’m in my first year of computer science at BINUS University. Manado Malay had no parallel dataset, so I made one with native speakers and fine-tune open models on it. I also build small web tools for my classmates.
About me
I’m in my first year at BINUS. Outside class I build things to understand them: a translator for Manado Malay, a math practice page and a shuttle timetable.

Projects
Three things I’ve made. MangARTI has the longest write-up: how I made the dataset, how I trained the models and how they score. IterMath and BSQShuttle are smaller.

Do you speak Manadonese and see a translation that looks off? Do you work on a language like it? Or are you a student building things too? I’d like to hear from you.
